Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc., a media, entertainment, and technology company, has signed a multiyear interactive program guide (IPG) agreement with Changzhou Broadcast & Television Information Network Co. Ltd., (CZCATV), a cable operator with more than 1 million analog subscribers in the city of Changzhou in China's Jiangsu province.
The agreement allows CZCATV to incorporate Gemstar-TV Guide's IPG products and services into set-top boxes deployed to its emerging digital cable television subscriber base. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
As Gemstar-TV Guide continues to grow its international business, the deal marks the company's entry into the China IPG market.
