KVH Industries, Inc., said it is making it even easier for mariners around the globe to connect to the Internet by doubling the high-speed data rates for the Tracphone F77, an Inmarsat Fleet-compatible marine satellite communications system.
KVH said Tracphone F77 customers can now enjoy high-speed 128 kilobits per second (Kbps) Internet and data service. KVH said with its exclusive Velocity Acceleration software, broadband data connections as fast as 500 Kbps--roughly the speed of residential DSL or cable Internet service--can be achieved, depending on network traffic and the data being transmitted.
