Nokia Chosen by Telefonica Moviles in Spain as a 3G Supplier for Next-Generation Mobile Network.(Brief Article)

Telefonica Moviles Espana, one of the largest mobile operators in Europe, has selected Nokia as a key supplier of 3G core and advanced radio network for Telefonica's 3G network in Spain.

Telefonica Moviles aims to be one of the first operators in Europe to launch commercial 3G services in August 2001. By using Nokia's unique IP mobility core and radio access technology, the 3G network will enable piloting of new exciting seamless multimedia services in Spain. Nokia's 3G infrastructure is based on open standards, platforms, and interfaces, critical for a smooth introduction of commercial 3G services where global roaming is required
