Telefonica upgrades national optical network in Spain with Lucent's LambdaUnite MultiService Switch.(Spain)(Brief Article)

Lucent announced that it has been selected by Telefonica de Espana, the largest service provider in Spain, to supply next-generation optical networking solutions that will allow Telefonica to expand its network. Telefonica has successfully deployed Lucent's LambdaUnite MultiService Switch (MSS) to upgrade its network to high-capacity switching, speeds of up to 40 gigabits per second (Gbps), and offer new value-added services. The financial terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.
