Ericsson wins GSM/GPRS expansion contract with Mobtel in Serbia.(Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson)(Brief Article)

Ericsson, the world's leading telecom supplier, and leading Serbian GSM operator Mobtel have signed a contract valued EUR 115 million to expand and upgrade Mobtel's GSM 900/1800 network. Ericsson will provide hardware, software, and telecom services for the network expansion.

Under the contract, Ericsson will provide hardware and software expansions of the core network, radio network, and microwave transmission network, as well as expansion of the GPRS packet-switching technology equipment and enhanced mobile multimedia functionality for new service offerings, e.g., streaming.
