3Com and Royal Philips Electronics have announced an alliance that will allow the business customers to have access to secure converged network communications systems. The alliance will support the edge-to-core networking, security, wireless, and network management solutions of 3Com and voice/data wireline and wireless communications systems of Philips.
The two companies will launch the services in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America initially. Telecom Italia is slated to be the first customer of the company. The President and CEO of 3Com stated that it was an opportunity for the company to expand its base in the business enterprise market segment.
