Bouygues Telecom signs its first MVNO deal with Numericable of France.(FRANCE)

France's third-largest cellular operator, Bouygues Telecom, has inked its first ever mobile network virtual operator (MNVO) deal with France-based cable service provider Numericable. In an MVNO deal, a cellular service provider can rent its network capacity to its competitor in order to sell its mobile services.

A company spokesman confirmed the agreement. However, the company refused to provide details of the agreement. Bouygues has been against MVNO agreements for a long time, but a few months back, the company decided to consider the feasibility of such a deal in an attempt to generate more revenues. According to France-based newspaper Les Echos, Numericable withdrew its bid for the country's 3G license in order to sign a deal with Bouygues Telecom. Private...
