KPN to choose between WiMAX and HSPA to serve remote areas.(NETHERLANDS)

European Telecom, September, 2007

Dutch telco KPN is conducting trial tests using two wireless broadband platforms, WiMAX and HSPA, to determine suitability to serve in the remote parts of the country. Both Ericsson and Samsung, the manufacturers, are assisting KPN in conducting these trial runs. New wireless service will be rolled out from 2008 using one of the selected platforms.
