Intel wins WiMAX chip order from Nokia.(FINLAND)

Chip-making giant Intel has won a cellular WiMAX chip order from Nokia. Nokia would use Intel's semiconductors in Internet-enabled devices in 2008. According to a Nokia spokeswoman, the company would launch WiMAX-powered Internet tablets by using Intel's chips in the first half of 2008. Intel, which was struggling to sustain itself in the cellular-phone chip market, sold its mobile chip arm to Marvell in 2006.

Texas Instruments, Broadcom, STMicroelectornics, and Infineon supply chips to Nokia, with Texas Instruments being the largest supplier of them all. Presently, Nokia does not make cellulars device via Intel chips.
