TeliaSonera launches domestic infrastructure provider.(SWEDEN)

European Telecom, February, 2008

Swedish telecom giant TeliaSonera has launched its domestic infrastructure provider, TeliaSonera Skanova Access. The fully owned affiliate would sell its wholesale services over copper as well as other networks.

The financial terms will be the same for TeliaSonera's retail unit and other rival operators. TeliaSonera Skanova Access employs a staff of around 700. TeliaSonera's operations in 2007 were reported to be around $1.1 billion.

The company is also planning to establish a new independent body called the Equality Access Board (EAB) for monitoring the equal treatment of retail operators and the market's trust in Skanova Access.
