Russian launches rocket carrying a telecommunications satellite.(RUSSIA)(Brief article)

According to media reports, Russia has launched a rocket carrying a telecom satellite. Control center officials stated that the rocket with Express-AM33 satellite took off from Baikonur space center in central Asia.

This satellite has a lifespan of 12 years and is supposed to replace the Express-AM11, which had to be closed down in 2006 following an accident. In 2007, four Proton-M rockets took off from Baikonur.
