The Romanian government has given its consent for using spectrum in the 36003800MHz frequency band to launch nationwide wireless broadband access. The National Regulatory Authority for Communications and Information Technology (ANRCTI) plans to initiate the selection procedure for issuing WiMAX license in the 3600-3657MHz and 37003757MHz bands.
The government would specify the appropriate license fee within a period of 30 days of the decision-making process. The National Radiocommunications Company (SNR) currently makes use of the 36003657MHz and 3700-3757MHz bands. It plans to vacate them within six months.
