The "Veterans Self-Employment Act," introduced by U.S. Rep. Richard Baker (R-La.), was heard by the Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity of the U.S. House Veterans Affairs Committee.
Among other provisions, the bill would establish a five-year pilot program that would allow American military-service members, veterans, national guardsmen, reservists, and qualified others to use some of their educational assistance entitlements toward franchise training expenses.
