Bharti Airtel forms new division to cater to SME segment.(BUSINESS)

India Telecom, September, 2008

Bharti Airtel, the largest private telecommunications service provider in India, announced that it has established a separate business division for providing a diverse range of customized services to the SME (small and midsized enterprise) segment of India. The division is called ABS (Airtel Business Service) and plans to have more than 3.5 million SMEs as its clients.

This move is indicative of Bharti Airtel's resolution to assume revenue leadership in this segment. ABS is now entering into agreements with IT vendors and service providers to provide services like managed Internet, secured Internet, MPLS VPN, IPLC, and Internet leased port storage solutions.
