The business advisory firm KPMG, a leading provider of professional services to the mining industry, has conducted a new survey which it believes is the most extensive survey of corporate reporting ever undertaken in the global mining sector, with participants including 40 of the largest mining companies based in Australia, Canada, South Africa, the UK and the US. `Mining -- A Survey of Global Reporting Trends'(*), has sought to gauge the extent to which mining companies are changing the way they do business in response to the increasing influence of external factors. KPMG perceives a definite trend among the leading companies to report not simply on financial performance.
