Caterpillar has introduced two new scrapers, the 631G and the 637G, which are designed to meet the requirements of the mining and heavy construction industries. Caterpillar says that the units feature a new operator station that promotes efficient operation. The traditional three implement levers on other scrapers have been replaced by a single electro-hydraulic joy-stick. An electronic transmission enables the operator to programme the top gear for matching travel speeds with the rest of the fleet, and a throttle lock enables the operator to maintain engine speed throughout the haul cycle without pressing the throttle.
