China advocates greater role for nuclear power.

The head of the Chinese delegation to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) general conference, Zhang Huazhu, told delegates that nuclear energy should be used more to ensure sustainable development, reports the Xinhua news agency. Mr Zhang asked the IAEA to do more to "objectively popularise the significance of nuclear power to the reduction of environmental pollution and climate change," so that the general public may realise its importance in sustainable development.
