December date for Carbon Fiber 2008

Advances in Textiles Technology, Nov, 2008

Carbon Fiber 2008 will be held 8-10 December 2008, at the Charleston Marriott Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina, USA.

This year the international conference will focus on the current supply and demand situation for carbon fibre, as well as the future prospect for growth of new carbon fibre composite applications.

Conference Director Scott Stephenson said "The next couple of years could bring some very interesting developments for the carbon fibre composite industry. The combination of recent unprecedented growth in the commercial aviation market, combined with record high energy costs, is creating growth opportunities across many different sectors.

"Fibre and prepreg suppliers are aligning their product portfolios to these sectors and we will also have at least one new fibre manufacturer [AKSA] entering the supply chain in 2009. It's going to be interesting to see how it all plays out."
