Alpha says Scarabaeus broke contract.(Brief Article)

Test equipment supplier Alpha Technologies issued a lawsuit in Ohio on 1 Sept 2000 against software developer Scarabaeus Prozessautmatisierung auf Basis Kunstlicher Intelligenz GmbH of Langgons, Germany, aimed at "protecting its intellectual property," said Dale Hiatt, vice president of technology and manufacturing at Alpha, in a 5 Sept interview at the DKT 2000 show in Nuremberg, Germany.

The lawsuit alleges breach of contract by Scarabaeus, who developed advanced 32-bit software for Alpha Technologies and then marketed the software as its own, claims the Akron, Ohio-based rubber test equipment specialist.

The writ does not apply to the 16-bit AlphaSuite software used by many of its customers.
