Rhodia's US silicone elastomers to move: US silicone elastomer production to move from New York to South Carolina. (Supplier news).(Brief Article)

Rhodia Inc. said it will move its North American speciality elastomers production to Rock Hill, South Carolina, from Troy, New York. The relocation will be part of a phased implementation that includes a $1.5 million to $2 million expansion of the Rock Hill facility next year. "This move reinforces the company's long-term commitment to the silicone elastomers business," according to general manager Gilles Grenier.

The aim is to support Rhodia's position in the mould making market, strengthen manufacturing and operation capabilities, and penetrate new silicone elastomers markets, the firm said. The Troy facility manufactures silicone elastomer products for the mould making, textile coating, automotive, aerospace, entertainment, architectural and construction...
