Delphi's brake-by-wire for Ellypse. (ERJ automotive briefing).(Renault selects Delphi Automotive Systems' Electro Mechanical Brakign system for concept car)(Brief Article)

European Rubber Journal, November, 2002

[] Paris -- Renault has selected automotive supplier Delphi to implement an advanced brake-by-wire system on the Ellypse concept car, shown at the 2002 Paris Auto Show, according to a Delphi statement.

Delphi's Electro Mechanical Braking system (EMB) contributes to the car maker's goal of more sustainable development by replacing the conventional hydraulic braking system with electrically driven actuators. This eliminates the hydraulic fluid, which is difficult to extract and recycle at the end of vehicle life, simplifies manufacture and eliminates the need for periodic fluid changes.
