According to Gregorio Borgo, product marketing for car and light truck tyres at Pirelli, one of the fastest growing markets today is high performance tyres for 4x4 and off-road vehicles, especially in the US. Borgo said Pirelli is making 24-, 25- and even 26-inch tyres for off-road vehicles in the US, notably the Hummer H2 (pictured). He added that people will buy V-rated 24-inch wheels and tyres for the H2, "almost as a fashion accessory."

He added that the even-sized tyres (20-, 22- 24- and 26-inch) sell better than the odd sizes (21-, 23-, 25-inch). He said the company is making V-rated tyres in 22-inch sizes for the Cayenne and BMW's X5. The company has been homologated for Dodge's STR-10, the fastest SUV in the world, said Borgo.
