The Bank of America Performing Arts Center is in the process of cutting expenses, starting with payroll and office rent, according to a press release and newsletter issued by the center on Oct. 28.
Karl Dietrich, executive director of the Bank of America Performing Arts Center, left his position on Oct. 31, according to the nonprofit group's president Tom McNair.
McNair said the center couldn't afford to keep someone of Dietrich's experience on the payroll. Dietrich's duties will go to his assistant, Aaron Smits. A search for a new executive director is underway, McNair said.
The center also is moving its administrative and ticket offices to the lower lobby. The offices previously were located across the street.
