Angel investors check out Wenatchee.

If all goes as planned, a trip to heaven will not be required to meet with an angel or two.

That's because Wenatchee, along with other communities in the state of Washington, has been named for inclusion in a fledgling angel investor network.

In June, the Seattle-based Washington Technology Center and the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration, announced plans to start a two-year program to help companies gain access to seed capital --funds typically provided by an angel investor--and for investors to meet those companies.

The term "angel investor" came of age at the height of the dot-com bubble, when employees and executives cashed in stocks on high-flying public companies and became millionaires overnight....
