Franklins sell store, focus on growing family.(Jake and Melody Franklin)

Family comes first, but saying goodbye to good customers and big dreams is never easy.

Jake and Melody Franklin, who purchased and began operation of Cooper s General Store in Ardenvoir in April 2002 sold the store to a family from Texas in December.

In a letter to the community, owner lake Franklin said, "I do not feel I can be the husband/father that need to be if I continue as the owner of the store. So it is with great sadness we are saying goodbye as the owners of Cooper's Store."

Franklin said he and his family will: continue to live in the valley as he pursues a career in real estate. He has also applied to a number of law enforcement agencies in an effort to become a policeman.

And, he will try to catch up on his sleep....
