These days, Dave Quick use's every tool at his fingertips when he checks the background of potential employees.
That's because the last guy who worked for him was convicted of stealing $54,000 over a couple years when Quick first bought the gun shop.
Quick bought One Shot Firearms in 2000 and kept the shop's only employee on the payroll. He struggled to make the shop profitable during the first three years, continuing to pour money into the business, but never getting ahead.
Business picked up after he moved the shop from East Wenatchee to 201 S. Chelan St., Wenatchee, but the bottom line remained bottomed out.
Thinking his financial struggles were those of any business trying to gain momentum, Quick continued to inject the business...
