Intermec Technologies Corp. helped U.S. Fleet Services automate its fuel delivery business and for that effort, the Everett-based electronics maker was chosen as a finalist in a study about significant service management implementations.
Intermec used its Pocket PC(R) 710 mobile computer, mobile printers and a wireless network to help U.S. Fleet save money by reducing manual data entry, billing errors and by providing immediate information on the U.S. Fleet Extranet. For Intermec's efforts, the Aberdeen Group/AFSMI (Association for Services Management International) chose Intermec as a finalist in its study called, "What Works: Ten Significant Implementations in Service Management."
