The Davis Cookie Co., a baker and distributor of Archway Cookies brand products in Pennsylvania, has equipped its drivers with mobile computers and printers from Intermec Technologies that have saved Davis time and money.
Using the technology, Davis can send instant messages about special promotions, pricing or related events to its independent distributors. Drivers on more than 50 routes use the Intermec hand-helds to call up pricing, promotion information, orders and sales information.
Intermec partnered on the technology with IntegraSys, a systems consulting firm that specializes in developing and launching route distribution and sales systems. Prior to the computers, Davis had been using a paper system.
