Another former Boeing worker takes a shot: Stadium of Thai.(Business Births)(recent economic downturn)

Like many who have lost their jobs in the recent economic downturn, Eddie Thedsomdandith of Lake Stevens has decided to strike out on his own.

Thedsomdandith, who had been working at the Boeing Co. assembling the electrical systems on 777s, will now be busy assembling orders of swimming angels and phad thai with his own restaurant, Stadium of Thai at 2313 Hewitt Ave.

He said he and his wife, Tan, were both laid off from Boeing last year and after a nearly year-long job search when neither of them could find work near home they decided to take some savings, money from their 401(k)s and make a go of it.

"I was just thinking, I've got no job, what am I going to do?" he said.
