Owners wild about Wired energy drink's chances.

An Everett company is taking on the likes of Red Bull, Rockstar and Jones Soda's Whoop-ass, entering the $1 billion energy drink business.
Last November, Unique Beverage, which is a sister business to A&W Bottling in south Everett, launched its drink, Wired, into the crowded energy drink market.
Wired is a lot like the other energy drinks on store shelves, with hip graphics--the drink's 20-ounce bottles feature a photo of a trendy clubgoer with wraparound sunglasses, a shiny white shirt and silver hair--and an Internet-inspired slogan, "Faster the connection."
"We think it's kind of fun," said Mike Broadwell, one of the partners in Unique Beverages, LLC. "In this business you've got to have fun or it'll drive you crazy."
