United Solar Ovonic LLC (Ovonic Solar), Auburn Hills, Mich., a leader in thin-film amorphous silicon solar technology and a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. (ECD Ovonics) (NASDAQ:ENER), has installed a Uni-Solar Ovonic system delivering 24kW at the Red Mountain Branch Library in Mesa, Arizona. Many unique characteristics of Uni-Solar Ovonic's solar energy system, such as being flexible, lightweight and durable, make it the ideal solution for this location. The installation is the result of a cooperative effort between Salt River Project (SRP), a utility that serves the metropolitan Phoenix area, and the City of Mesa.
