International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), the grandfather of personal computing, has announced its intention to stop manufacturing personal computers almost entirely. The company's share of the PC market has been steadily eroding since 1981. Laptops (ThinkPad) will still be produced as they continue to churn a profit.
