Technology Breakthrough from Alcatel and Myrio Enhances Interactive TV over DSL Capabilities.(Brief Article)

Alcatel announced that Myrio Corp., a provider of enabling software technology and integrated network solutions for voice, video, and data services, will use Alcatel's OmniSwitch/Router's IP multicast over ATM capability to deliver its digital entertainment offering.

Alcatel and Myrio have collaborated to develop sophisticated Internet Protocol multicast services on Alcatel's OmniSwitch/Router platform which enables Myrio to deliver its digital entertainment offering over virtually any full rate Layer-2 digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM). This feature allows telecommunications providers to use native topologies such as asynchronous transfer mode within their network architecture.
