VideoTele.com, a Tektronix company, completed deployment of its Digital Headend (DHE) at CT Communications (CTC) in Urbana, Ohio. With VT.c's technology in place, CTC's subscribers can enjoy a rich service of 127 digital video and 45 commercial-free digital audio channels of home entertainment in addition to their existing telephone, Internet, and wireless services. CTC's network uses the industry's lower bitrate ADSL technology to provide multiple content streams to each subscriber's home. Three VideoTele.com Astria platforms demultiplex and encode incoming content for delivery over the access network. The dense chassis of the platform offers CTC the ability to process many channels of digital video and audio content in a rack that is just a fraction of the space...
