The agreement on the sale of the Franco-German Aventis group's animal nutrition activities to the European investment fund CVC Capital Partners was finalised at the beginning of the month, following approval by the relevant authorities. Financial details of the sale of Aventis Animal Nutrition haven't been revealed.
Aventis announced in June that it had begun exclusive talks with CVC Capital Partners on the sale of its animal nutrition division. Negotiations began early in 2001, with a final agreement reached on November 15. The sale falls in the context of Aventis' strategy of refocusing on strictly pharmaceutical activities. Besides animal nutrition, the group is also planning to offload its Aventis CropScience subsidiary and certain industrial activities....
