Aventis Crop Science, with headquarters in Lyons, France, comprises four business segments - the crop protection business, the environmental science business, the seed business and the bioscience business.
The company was formed in 1999 as the combination of AgrEvo (the former Hoechst/Schering joint venture) and the Rh?ne-Poulenc agriculture division.The merger between Bayer and Aventis was announced at the beginning of October last year and notified for regulatory clearance on October 29.
