EU/MEDITERRANEAN : COMMISSION LAUNCHES EUROMED-NEWS FOR ARABIC VIEWERS.(Conference news)

The EuroMed-News project will provide 'news' and not 'communication' on EU neighbourhood policies with the southern countries, say its partners. The project, launched on 15 April in Brussels with the financial support of the European Commission, consists of the broadcasting - by six public televisions in Algeria, Lebanon, Libya, Jordan, Syria and Morocco - of 17 hours of joint production by these same stations over a 14-month period. The aim is to 'enlighten' their viewers on North-South dialogue.
'EuroMed-News is first and foremost a project aimed at strengthening intercultural dialogue with our Southern partners by broadcasting more information on our policies. The citizens of the partner countries are its priority public,' explained External Relations...
