Last month, Martha Stewart called into her daughter's Sirius Satellite Radio program "Whatever with Alexis and Jennifer" and told a story from her childhood. As a young girl, Martha Stewart would often do the shopping for her mother. Sara Lee's chocolate cake was often on the grocery list, but not all of the cake made it into the refrigerator at home.

"I'd always take out a slice. I'd very carefully open and then very carefully close it," Martha told Alexis Stewart and co-host Jennifer Koppelman Hutt. "Of course I got in trouble," Martha said. Her mother often chased her and her brother around the kitchen table. "It was a wooden spoon generally that we'd be threatened with."
