SingTel is on target to roll out its 3G services across Singapore in the first quarter of 2005. The company unveiled results of its two-month trial in September and October involving 150 testers divided equally between consumers and corporate users.
Overall, users were happy with its 3G services, with four out of five saying that SingTel's 3G services met or exceeded their expectations. Participants used their phones mainly for voice calls and access to SingTel's 3G portal and video streaming. They found video streaming a "fairly smooth" experience, especially useful when they were waiting for people or while commuting. As for video calls, they found the quality acceptable but wanted video and audio to be better synchronized.
