Compal and Motorola in a deal for 3G phones.(ASIA)
2.5G-3G, August, 2005
Taiwan-based Compal Electronics announced that it has won orders from Motorola for the supply of 3G handsets on an original equipment manufacturer basis. The Taiwanese company, along with Motorola, will manufacture and design the mobile handsets. While Motorola will look after the designing of the system, the hardware, and the software, Compal will assemble the handsets.
However, the financial details of the deal were not known.
