GSM Association publishes guidelines to integrate HSDPA in PCs and laptops.(High-speed downlink packet access)(Global System for Mobile)(Brief article)

The GSM Association (GSMA) has issued guidelines for manufacturers of PCs and laptops to incorporate HSDPA technology in their products. The guidelines came after GSMA and Intel jointly took up an initiative to integrate mobile broadband in notebooks.

Cellular service providers like Vodafone, T-Mobile, TIM, TeliaSonera, Orange, O2, and Cingular Wireless, as well as notebook makers and software companies like Check Point, Dell, Fujitsu Siemens, Gemalto, Intel, Lenovo, Microsoft, Option Wireless, Novatel Wireless, Qualcomm, Sierra Wireless, Sony, and Sony Ericsson, participated in the initiative.
