Telecom New Zealand and Sierra Wireless have launched the AirCard595 wireless wide area PC Card in New Zealand. It is the first device to provide Telecom s upgraded Mobile Broadband Rev A network. On December 12, Telecom New Zealand will unveil the first half of the Mobile Broadband Rev A upgrade in Auckland.

It will upgrade all Mobile Broadband coverage to Revision A in the country by December 2007. Jin Pak, vice president of sales, Asia Pacific for Sierra Wireless, said that the pair of AirCard595 and EV-DO Revision A would be useful for mobile data users accessing large files such as videos, photos, and presentations. The AirCard 595 provides average download speeds of up to 800Kbps and average upload speeds of 300Kbps.
