Taiwan likely to put up $3 billion for developing WiMAX technology.(TOP NEWS)

The Taiwanese government as well as the private sector are likely to spend around $3 billion to develop WiMAX technology in the country by 2012, according to a research carried out by research institute MIC (Market Intelligence Centre). The research suggests that the worldwide market for WiMAX is likely to create $75.5 billion in production value by 2012.
A senior analyst at MIC, Chang Chi, said that the total global investment for WiMAX networks is expected to touch $4.8 billion between 2007 and 2008. In the Mobile Taiwan project, the total value of WiMAX-based customer premises equipment (CPE) shipments is likely to touch $159 million in 2007.
