Motorola's Canopy wireless broadband technology has officially been launched in Asia with commercial deployments and numerous trials throughout the region. The technology is designed to provide cost-effective, reliable and high-speed Internet access to underserved and unserved markets in the region.
Commercial licensed 5 GHz Canopy products have been deployed in Bangladesh and Nepal. With the population sparsely distributed in some parts of these countries, the Canopy solution has proven to be a viable way to bring communities in outlying areas online.
Multiple trials are currently in various stages of completion in 15 countries, including China, Japan, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Brunei,...
