While it's unlikely anyone could confuse a Mamiya TLR for a Minox, Geoffrey Kilmer, founder and president of Photoworks Creative Group, Charlottesville, Va., was called upon to give it a try, and he received a commendation letter from the Pentagon for his efforts.

Serving as a U.S. Navy photographer from 1973-1978, Kilmer was part of an anti-submarine squadron, deployed in Bermuda. When a suspicious-looking cargo ship, suspected by U.S. military officials of carrying missiles, limped into nearby St. Georges Harbor, Kilmer was ordered to swap his uniform for "civvies," hop on his motorcycle, and take "covert" shots of the vessel.
