State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), the investment management arm of State Street Corporation, has appointed Simon Roe as senior investment manager in the enhanced equity group.

He joins from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) where he was a portfolio manager most recently responsible for the global equity options protected returns fund.

In his new role he will take on responsibility for all of SSGA's enhanced indexation funds in London. Roe will report to Chris Woods, chief investment officer for SSGA UK.
