State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), the investment management arm of State Street Corporation, has appointed Christopher Handley as an investment manager in the indexation team.

He will take on responsibility for UK and international equity portfolios, reporting to Rick Lacaille, head of structured products.

Handley joins from Henderson Global Investors, where he was a passive fund manager responsible for Henderson's index funds.

Prior to joining the passive management team he was a fund manager on the enhanced index fund team at Henderson.

Before joining Henderson in 1998, he spent two years at Stephen Bronte Partners where he was a senior analyst for the Asian hedge fund.
