Computer giant Microsoft is behind a push to increase the development IT solutions for public pension scheme administration worldwide.
BearingPoint Inc, a large business consulting and systems integration firm, and Microsoft last week said they had signed a multi-year agreement to accelerate the development and delivery of IT solutions to national and local government markets worldwide in a number of areas as well as pensions.
Under the agreement, BearingPoint and Microsoft are developing "repeatable enterprise solutions" in the areas of programme management, electronic document filing, e-government, web services, homeland security and public pension administration.
