Global financial market gloom looks set to continue into October after research found a third of investors believed share prices of FTSE companies will suffer a further drop.

The poll by the stocks and shares website www.advfn.com revealed that investor sentiment was mixed when it came to forecasting the short-term direction of the UK's main index. But almost 60% stated they found the increased volatility a good opportunity for making money.
