Hewitt Associates has extended its European consultancy business with the purchase of leading French player Finance Arbitrage for an undisclosed sum.
"We expect the investment consultancy market in France to grow pretty fast over the next few years, although it will not take the same form as in the US or UK," said Nick Fitzpatrick, global head of investment consultancy at Hewitt, formerly known as Hewitt Bacon & Woodrow.
"We hope to benefit from it through this acquisition," he said. Hewitt, which already had a local office in France, expects to offer investment consulting and administration services to companies setting up employee savings schemes known as epargne salariales.
